1. System Overview / نظرة عامة على النظام: A Horizontal Life-Line (HLL) is a safety system installed at height to protect personnel from falls. Design / التصميم: Purpose / الهدف: To provide a continuous, safe anchorage for workers at height. To comply with OSHA, EN 795, ISO 14567, ANSI Z359 standards. Scope / النطاق: Roofs, industrial platforms, walkways, and facades. Designed for max. 2–5 users per line, depending on span and anchors. Design Considerations / اعتبارات التصميم: Total system length, span between intermediate supports (max 6–8m typical). Anchor strength, material (galvanized or stainless steel). Load calculation including fall arrest forces, impact load, and safety factor. Anchor Installation / تركيب المثبتات: Fix primary and intermediate anchors to structure per design. Cable / Rope Installation / تركيب الحبال: Run stainless steel cable or wire rope through anchors. Tensioning / الشد: Apply calculated tension using tensioning devices; check deflection limits. End Fittings & Hardware / تركيب الملحقات: Secure turnbuckles, clamps, and termination points. Marking & Signage / التعليمات التحذيرية: Post load limits, usage instructions, and warning signs. Safety During Installation / السلامة أثناء التركيب: Workers must wear full fall arrest harness. Use temporary scaffolding or MEWPs for high areas. Verify structural strength before installation. 4. Testing / الاختبار: Purpose / الهدف: Verify system integrity, tension, and anchor strength before use. Ensure compliance with EN 795 / ANSI Z359 / ISO 14567 standards. Testing Methods / طرق الاختبار: Visual Inspection / الفحص البصري: Check for corrosion, damage, or improper installation. Tension Test / اختبار الشد: Measure cable tension using calibrated load devices; ensure correct sag and tension. Pull-Out / Anchor Test / اختبار الشد للمثبتات: Apply rated pull force to each anchor and verify structural holding. Function Test / اختبار الأداء: Attach dummy load or test weight and simulate fall arrest; check system response and deflection. Frequency / التكرار: Initial test after installation. Annual inspection and retest, or after any fall incident. Acceptance Criteria / معايير القبول: No permanent deformation in anchors or cable. Tension within design limits. All hardware intact and properly installed. Maximum deflection within calculated values. 5. Documentation / التوثيق: Design Drawings / مخططات التصميم: Route, anchors, tension values, calculations. Installation Report / تقرير التركيب: Date, installer, deviations, pictures. Testing Report / تقرير الاختبار: Tension readings, pull-out results, pass/fail, inspector signature. 💡 Notes: HLL systems are intended only for fall arrest, not for lifting loads. Users must always wear a compatible harness and shock-absorbing lanyard. Regular maintenance and inspection are mandatory to maintain safety.
